Canada announced new Express Entry draw on June 24, inviting 392 PNP nominated candidates to apply for permanent residence.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement was 696 to receive Invitations to Apply (ITA) in this draw. Without the 600 additional points from the provincial nomination, this means that the invited candidates would have had a CRS score of 96.

Lowest CRS requirement for a provincial nominee program (PNP)

Canada announced draw on April 29, invited candidates who had previously received 600 additional CRS points with a provincial nomination. This is the lowest CRS requirement for a provincial nominee program (PNP) specific Express Entry draw so far this year. 

Total 589 candidates were received invitation in this Express Entry draw with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 692. 

With an additional 600 points from having a provincial nomination, that means the basic human capital points requirement was only 92.

Although coronavirus has changed the landscape of immigration in Canada, the year has started off as a great one for Express Entry.

There were more Express Entry candidates invited to apply for permanent residence in the first quarter of 2020 than there were in the first quarters of the two previous years.

Canadian provinces have been using their enhanced Provincial Nominee Programs to nominate Express Entry candidates for permanent residence.

Enhanced programs work in conjunction with Express Entry. They allow provincial governments to nominate Express Entry candidates who support their population and labour market goals.

They also have a shorter processing standard than provincial base programs that operate independently from Express Entry.

Provincial governments hold their own provincial nominee draws where Express Entry candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

If they receive the nomination they will be awarded an additional 600 CRS points in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

British Columbia - Canada PR Visa

British Columbia issues 476 invitations in its three latest draws. With this the province has now invited 1,991 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination since January 2020.

Applicants who received an invitation to apply now have up to 30 calendar days from the date of invitation to submit a complete application via the BC PNP Online registration system.

Manitoba issues new invitations to immigration candidates in latest draw held on March 26.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) allows Manitoba to nominate a set number of economic immigration candidates each year. 

Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 226 new invitations to apply for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence in a draw held March 26.

During the admist of COVID-19, this continuous positive development in Canadian immigration system is complemented by the fact that many provinces continue to process immigration applications and hold regular draws even though special immigration measures are in place.

To be considered for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence from the MPNP, immigration candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and provide the required information on their education, work experience, skills in English or French.
